We have just been informed of the death of Maureen Dixon (nee Julian). Maureen joined Dixie in Evans house in 1950, and regularly attended our Reunions. Her presence at this year’s Reunion wil be sadly missed by her many friends.


News has just been received of the death of Wing Commander Michael John Wynn  (Dixie,  1951 -1958, Head Boy in 1958). Michael passed away on December 19th, 2019 aged 79. He took early retirement from the Royal Air Force in 1987 after a successful career which is fully recorded in our Life after Dixie files. His funeral took place on 27th December 2019 at Parc Gwyn Crematorium, Narbeth, Pembrokeshire, Wales.


It has just been announced that Hilary Barton passed away on Monday 1st  March 2021. Hilary joined Dixie in 1949 in Evans House and left in July 1955. She retired from her position of Headmistress of  Catherine Infant School, Belgrave, in 1994 after teaching there for twenty years.

She regularly attended our Annual Reunions. Her funeral service will take place at Loughborough Crematorium on Wednesday March 24th at 9.30 a.m. A Joyful Service of Thanksgiving to celebrate Hilary’s life will take place at St. Luke’s Church, Stocking Farm, at a future date.


We have just been informed of the death of Pat Otter. Pat joined the School in 1947 where he was a keen, and very successful member of the Cross Country Running Team. After school he went as an electrical engineering apprentice to BTH at Rugby.  He obtained an HND in Electrical Engineering and when National Service came along he signed on for regular service so he could get a commission into the RAF.


With regret we have to announce the death of  John Patrick Billingham Smith who was a pupil at Dixie from 1955 - 1962. John passed away on Saturday,16th January, following a severe stroke. John had a very successful career as a Metallurgist/ Engineer which is available for you to read about by clicking here.
