OBITUARIES

The death has been announced of John (Jack) Chesterton who joined the School in 1951. John passed away on December 7th and his funeral took place on January 3rd at St. Martin’s Church, Desford, followed by burial at Kirby Muxloe Cemetary. The Association was represented by Graham Rawlings.

The death has been announced of Jeff Toon, (Evans House, 1947). Jeff died on 8th October and his funeral took place on Friday 8th November at 2.30pm at Gilroes followed by a funeral tea at Heathley Park, next door.

Peter Loseby and his wife Sheila attended Rosemary Middleton’s funeral on Monday 4th November. Both Rosemary's husband Bob and son Edward gave powerful and well prepared eulogies. Edward held aloft Rosemary's school report book that they had only discovered recently. Peter studied it afterwards and pointed out the last “Headmaster 's  Comments” prior to W. F. Gosling's retirement.

The service not only included three hymns but three choir anthems. Most people know how much Peter enjoys funerals with plenty of choral work. Peter stressed that the wake was also out of the “Top Drawer”!

Christine, Rosemary’s sister, will be taking Kay Palmer, her mother to Mkt. Bosworth Church for some quiet reflection soon.

Edward 's wife is researching the family history so Peter pointed her in the direction of the DGSA website and a suggestion that if she requires any clarification she should contact Walter Baynes.
