Over the past few years the Committee has been hard at work trying to trace copies
of all of the School Magazines that were published between 1950 and 1969 when the
School closed.
Fortunately they were successful! They managed to find copies of every edition that
were suitable for scanning and restoring. After many hours work they are now available
for members to view online as .pdf files. Also available on DVD, they provide a wonderful
record of the pupil’s achievements during this important period of the School’s
history.
There are 32 editions of The Wolstanians containing such details as who started at
Dixie and when. Details of when they left and in many cases where they went to and
what they were doing.
Completing this set of magazines are individual copies dating from 1892 - 1913. It
would appear that some time around the turn of the century the name of the magazine
changed from ‘The Wolstonian’ to ‘The Bosworthian’. It would be interesting to discover
when and why. Efforts to locate further copies are of course on-going.
If you would like to know more about how you can obtain a copy of this fascinating
library please send me your request via E-mail by clicking on the link below.
The earliest copy we managed to find was this Wolstonian, note the spelling, dated
March 1892. This is also included on the DVD.
